Recently, I came across with a newly-established grassroot musical ensemble, called Mr. Before. I knew it since somebody recommended it on BBS. Same as other original and independent musicians/bands, Mr. Before popularize itself through Neocha, Tudou, Youku, etc.
Yesterday, Chinese young “creatives” (musicians, artists, writers, designers, etc) were under-represented by mainstream media and lack effective distribution platforms. Today, even there is no more Super Girl, they still can exposure themselves through social media and digital channels……
Last month, I introduced Kaixin001’s House & Garden application. This month, Kaixin001 successfully launched a new app called “Repaste (转帖)”. The new app specifically enables users easily repaste and share any kind of content (post, picture, video) with their friends. Now, most of my friends on Kaixin001 are repasting interesting thing everyday. Some awesome stuff have been repasted by almost everyone. Based on everybody’s networking, these content can be quickly spread out to a significant amount of audience……
Shanghai burlesque performer, Zhou Libo (周立波), has been a hot topic on Shanghai local BBS forums for a period of time. Zhou made over 30 successful individual Shanghai cross-talk performances “笑侃三åå¹´”, which held by SMEG, in early this year during the Spring Festival. At the end of March, the DVD of this performance was issued. As usual, the video was uploaded and shared by netizens through various online channels, including P2P download sites and video sharing sites. Soon later, it generated a lot of buzz……
UNIQLO (ユニクãƒ), the Japanese new-style casual clothes maker recently launched its online shop in China. E-commerce is nothing new for many brands in China, especially those clothing companies. For example, PPG and VANCL utilize online shopping as their main business model. And GIORDANO has done a successful e-business in addition to its traditional sales chain. On Sunday, April 19th, 19:00, Nokia held the 5800 XpressMusic Interactive Online Concert on Youku. It is the first (maybe just in China) cutting-edge concert which broadcast on live on Internet. During the broadcast, the audience could choose their favorite visual angles by clicking 4 different live streams, they could vote for their favorite performers, they could also play with the virtual “flower”, “applause”, and “kiss”. Yesterday, Youku showed some statistics for the concert. The results are pretty impressive……
I haven’t updated the blog for a week since I was during my trip to Hangzhou, Xitang, and Wuyuan. I took many pictures to record the beautiful scenery. I will upload them to my web albums later. Now, I want to quickly share couple photos of those Taobao Diamond Sellers (super sellers with great sales performance) in Xitang, a living ancient town with a history of more than one thousand years in China……
Due to the global financial crisis, this year is a tough time for the job seekers, especially those fresh graduates in China. An ordinary resume probably won’t work (in certain degree) to catch the HR’s eyes anymore. So Chinese young people need to be more creative and proactive to seek jobs. Early April, a college graduate major in Film & Video made a video resume for himself and uploaded it to Youku. Till now, it has been going viral to other mainstream video sharing sites including Tudou, Ku6, 56, Pomoho, and Sina Video. This is a pretty impressive video……
Shanghai Metro Deer Man firstly showed off himself in July 2008. Pictures and videos quickly spread out on Internet then. Soon later, deer man announced that his name is Dr. Kylin and he is running a studio called Kylin Lab to make newfangled video. On April Fool’s Day, deer man made a viral video for the new Nissan TEANA……
