As China Web2.0 Review, Danwei, and CNreviews posted, today is defined by netizens as “The Chinese Website Maintenance Day (中国网站维护日)“.

Due to the 2oth anniversary of 1989 Tiananmen Massacre, the administrators of total 358 Chinese domestic websites have put the inaccessibility on their sites for a period of 2-3 days via using the excuse “technical maintenance” since June 3rd, according to a collaborated-made “Chinese Site Maintenance Google Spreadsheet“.

Chinese people really loves tradition and it is really celebrated with respect and to follow the guidelines which is been agreed upon by the government itself. Well turning off all the system for those domestic websites is not a great impact for a cause of problem at all because it involves only for the China community but if this kind of process is been implemented through the world globally, for sure lots of people from different parts of the world would not agree with this kind of implementation because it would have a great effect on the sales and marketing progress of every site in the internet world.

I had no idea about this tradition. Is that list supposed to represent all the sites that were down for the celebration?
