I went through the report and here is a translated summary of the key findings……

CR-Nielsen, the Nielsen’s joint venture in China and partner of ChinaRank, launched BuzzMetrics service in China on 11th August.
Nielsen has introduced its BuzzMetrics pioneering tool into China to help marketers passively observe unprompted consumer interactions and observations being made on a massive scale across the Internet.
Chinese language is the main barrier for oversea social media research & monitoring agencies to enter the China market in past few years. However, I received some evidences in early this year show that oversea vendors including Nielsen BuzzMetrics, TNS Cymfony, and Radian6 had begun to cover China region for multinational brands’ global solution……

Following the block of Twitter / Flickr / Live / Bing / Hotmail and “the Chinese Website Maintenance Day”, Chinese government has ordered that every PC sold in Mainland China should be shipped with built-in censoring technology. Called Green Dam Youth Escort Software (绿å-èŠ±å£æŠ¤èˆªè½¯ä»¶), it’s designed to block access to certain Web sites including pornography, illicit, and any “harmful” content. The official notice about the requirement by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology says it is aimed at “constructing a green, healthy, and harmonious Internet environment, and preventing harmful information on the Internet from influencing and poisoning young people.†……
As China Web2.0 Review, Danwei, and CNreviews posted, today is defined by netizens as “The Chinese Website Maintenance Day (中国网站维护日)”. Due to the 2oth anniversary of 1989 Tiananmen Massacr, the administrators of total 358 Chinese domestic websites have put the inaccessibility on their sites for a perid of 2-3 days via using the excuse “technical maintenance” since June 3rd, according to a collaborated-made “Chinese Site Maintenance Google Spreadsheet”……
