On August 17th, MINI established the first official brand account on Kaixin001. By August 27th, it has 1,628,439 visitors and 857,147 fans.

Flash mob is not a very new social phenomenon in China, especially in big cities like Shanghai. The city’s largest flash mob group was established on September 18th 2006 on Douban. The recent increasing awareness of flash mob is due to a frozen flash mob in Raffles City on July 31st. A video of record was uploaded to Tudou on August 2nd, then it was widely spread out on the Internet. Till now, the video has been watched over 260,000 times.

CR-Nielsen, the Nielsen’s joint venture in China and partner of ChinaRank, launched BuzzMetrics service in China on 11th August.
Nielsen has introduced its BuzzMetrics pioneering tool into China to help marketers passively observe unprompted consumer interactions and observations being made on a massive scale across the Internet.
Chinese language is the main barrier for oversea social media research & monitoring agencies to enter the China market in past few years. However, I received some evidences in early this year show that oversea vendors including Nielsen BuzzMetrics, TNS Cymfony, and Radian6 had begun to cover China region for multinational brands’ global solution……

Super Baozi (包强), is a cool animation image created by a young grassroot designer Sun Haipeng. Sun made two well-done 3D videos of Super Baozi. They are really creative, funny, and awesome.
Within 2 weeks, the first video has been watched 577,000 times and second one has been viewed 145,000 times in total. Moreover, Sun’s blog was featured on the index page of Netease Blog Portal on 4th August.
