On Sunday, April 19th, 19:00, Nokia held the 5800 XpressMusic Interactive Online Concert on Youku. It is the first (maybe just in China) cutting-edge concert which broadcast on live on Internet. During the broadcast, the audience could choose their favorite visual angles by clicking 4 different live streams, they could vote for their favorite performers, they could also play with the virtual “flower”, “applause”, and “kiss”. Yesterday, Youku showed some statistics for the concert. The results are pretty impressive……
Due to the global financial crisis, this year is a tough time for the job seekers, especially those fresh graduates in China. An ordinary resume probably won’t work (in certain degree) to catch the HR’s eyes anymore. So Chinese young people need to be more creative and proactive to seek jobs. Early April, a college graduate major in Film & Video made a video resume for himself and uploaded it to Youku. XiDan Girl (西单女孩), probably is the first Net Star in 2009 in China. Three months before, she is an unknown subway singer in Beijing. Now, she is a well-known online grassroots celeb. On March 26, Youku held a launching ceremony for its Niu Ren (aka master hand) Campaign, a program to encourage netizen to discovery the most impressive folk grassroots experts in any field. During the ceremony, Youku organized a small concert for XiDan Girl. Different from previous net stars in Chinese Internet history (e.g. Fu Rong Jie Jie, Tian Xian Mei Mei, Ding Bei Li, Xiao Pang), XiDan Girl is not famous overnight due to hyping or spoofing, but to her great singing performance and netizens’ recognition……
